Herbert Cooper Baynes

Herbert Cooper Baynes, 79 of Reidsville, went to be with the Lord Wednesday February 25, 2026 at his home.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Monday March 2, 2026  in Reidlawn Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Mabe officiating. The family will see friends 12:00 till 1:30 P.M. March 2, 2026 before the funeral at Citty Funeral Home and at other times will be at the residence.

A native of Reidsville, he was a son of the late Jack Cooper and Louise McQueen Baynes and had lived his entire life in Reidsville. He was a former employee of Sylvania and later worked at Wiel-McCain in Eden. He dearly loved beach music especially the Tams, and enjoyed building model cars, playing on his computer with his grandchildren, working on his cars, and traveling especially to Myrtle Beach. He was preceded in death by his wife: Sybil Sue Bennett Baynes. 

Survivors include his daughters: Wendy K. Watson (Jeff) of Reidsville, and Heather C. Liberty of Ruffin, grandchildren: Michael Watson (Jennifer), Justin Watson (Kristen), Hunter Liberty, and Elle Liberty.
