George Oscar Wandell

George Oscar Wandell, 73, of Reidsville formerly of Oxford, NC went to be with the Lord Wednesday December 14, 2022 at his home. A memorial service will be conducted 10:00 A.M. Thursday December 22, in Citty Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Hester officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Dale Memorial Park in Fincastle, VA. The family will see friends following the service at the funeral home. A native of Endicott, NY , he was a son of the late Donald and Christina VanDusen Wandell and was  a retired employee of I.B.M. He had lived in Reidsville for the past two years. A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, He loved his grandchildren and his great granddaughter and his greatest accomplishment in life was being Poppie. George was preceded in death by his wife: Betty Ferguson Wandell and a sister: Arlene Bailey.Survivors include his step-son Jay Harris and wife Kristi of Reidsville, NC , his sister: Joyce Houghtaling of Johnson City, NY, and his brothers: Donnie Wandell and wife Peggy of Apalachin, NY and Carl Wandell and wife Rose of Stone Ridge, NY, grandchildren: John Harris of San Diego, CA, and Tamara Key of Reidsville, NC, great granddaughter: Emma Kate Key of Reidsville.
