Freda Bowen Purcell, 55, of Reidsville, went to be with the Lord Thursday June 5, 2025 at her home.
The family will hold a memorial service 2:00 P.M. Saturday June 14, 2025 at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Simmons officiating. The family will see friends in the fellowship hall following the service.
A native of Kingsport, TN, she was a daughter of the late James Earl and Freda Lawson Bowen and had lived in Reidsville for the past 23 years. She was a home maker and was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church where she had formerly taught Sunday School and was a member of the WMU. She enjoyed camping, dancing, and Bible studies. She loved her grandchildren and her family and looked forward to family gatherings.
Survivors include her husband of 25 years: James A. Purcell of the home, daughters: Nicole DeShield (Eric) of Kernersville, Tiffany Brogdon and Rebecca Purcell both of Reidsville, bonus daughter: Hannah Dawson of Ruffin, son: Nathan Neil Purcell of Jacksonville, FL, and a bonus son: Chris Cordero of Gibsonville, NC, brothers: Russell Bowen and Jamie Bowen both of Lenoir, and her sister: Annette Blankenship of Lenoir, grandchildren: Camden DeShield, Carlisle Coffey, Allison Coffey, Ares Coffey, J’ahnie Brogdon and Rowan McKinney.
