Evie Elizabeth James “Lib” Brown, 87, of Reidsville, NC went to be with the Lord Thursday December 10, 2020 at her home after a lengthy illness. Private graveside memorial services for immediate family only will be conducted in Evergreen Memory Gardens. A native of Forsyth County, she was the daughter of the late Luther W. “Boots” and Lucy N. Everette James and had lived in Rockingham County for most of her life. She was a retired employee of Burlington Industries and was a very independent and strong woman who loved gospel music and crocheting. She was a grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother known as Granny Lib or Nanny. Lib was preceded in death by her son: Paul Thomas McCollum, Jr., her grandsons: Matthew and Mark McCollum, her sister: Bernice Donathan, brothers: Wesley and Martin James and her beloved pets Ty and Gizzy. She is survived by a daughter: Linda Ann McCollum (David), sons: John Thomas McCollum and Ronald James McCollum, brother: William James, grandchildren: Austin McCollum (Meredith), Stephanie Sheppard (Brad), Donna Hall (Grayson), Jennifer Sands (Daryl), Tonya McCollum (Eric), Eric McCollum, Alex McCollum (Cydney), step-granddaughter: Jessica Symank, great grandchildren: Brandie Reed, Amanda Hockett, Benjamin Hall, Kenan Bolden, Gage McCollum, Isabella McCollum, Paisley McCollum, Layton McCollum, Sophia Symank, great great grandchildren: Haleigh, Aubriella, Mason, Weston, and Atlas.
