Eugene Ronald Pinnix,89, of Reidsville went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, April 9, 2021, at his home.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:30PM Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Citty Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tom Worley officiating and burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Due to the COVID19 Pandemic, those attending the service are asked to please wear a mask or face covering and to observe social distancing. You may come Citty Funeral Home and pay your respect and sign a register for Ronald on Saturday, April 10th from 12 Noon until 6:00 PM and Sunday from 8:00 AM until 2:30 PM.
A native of Leakesville, he was a son of the late William Penn and Mamie Osborne Pinnix and had lived in Rockingham Co. most of his life. Ronald was a retired farmer, a gifted Bluegrass musician, and a member of Cross Road Baptist Church. He played in several Bluegrass bands including the White Oak Mountain Boys with John Compton and later he played with the Friendly Center Playboys along with his brother; Warren Pinnix. Ronald played with the Sunny Mountain Partners and his last band was the Greenhouse River Band. He played for many square dances, wedding receptions, parties, was featured on some of the television stations in the area and he played for Rep. Howard Coble’s Birthday parties for several years. Ronald played in many music festivals all over the United States and entertained people everywhere he went. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his 6 brothers and 9 sisters.
Surviving is his wife of 69 years; Willie Mae Eastwood Pinnix of the home, daughters; Wanda P. Brown (Steve Johnson) and Janice P. Stone (Allen) both of Reidsville, grandchildren; Jeff Brown (Heather), Melody Brown, Scott Stone (Kimberly), Josh Stone (Courtney), great grandchildren; Caleb, Katie, Lauren, Luke, Bella, Gracie, Beth, & Sophia.
The family will be at the residence. Citty Funeral Home is assisting the Pinnix Family.
