Elder William David Underwood

Elder William David Underwood,  78, of Reidsville, NC went to be with the Lord Thursday March 2, 2023 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, NC. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Sunday March 5, 2023 at Lick Fork Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Gleason Worrell and Elder Dan Parker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A native of Caswell County, he was a son of the late Walther H. and Hulda Walker Underwood and had lived most of his life in Reidsville, An Elder, he was a member of Lick Fork Primitive Baptist Church and pastored Lick Fork Primitive Baptist Church, Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church and Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church. He was a retired manager at Guilford Mills in Greensboro, NC. A devoted Husband, Daddy, and “Chew Papa”, he enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren especially attending their sporting events. David was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Allen Underwood, a son: Stephen Holt Underwood, brothers: Homer Underwood, Horace Underwood and Wallace Underwood, and sisters: Grey Miles, Dorothy Rice, and Lois Minson. Survivors include his daughter: Cindy U. Whitley (Whit)of Reidsville, brother: Paul Underwood (Tillie) of Reidsville, , grandchildren: Brittney Breeden (Zach), Hannah Evans (Clyde), Kathryn Stone, Morgan Brooks (Cody) and Alison Underwood, great grandchildren: Hunter Underwood, Bella Stone, Grayson Evans, Henry Breeden, Georgia Evans, Blair Brooks, and Oliver Breeden. The family will see friends 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. Saturday March 4, 2023 at Citty Funeral Home and at other times will be at the home of his daughter Cindy Whitley 1312 Berrymore Rd. Reidsville, NC.
