Edna Walker Sharpe Barnes

Edna Walker Sharpe Barnes, 89, of Reidsville, went to be with the Lord Friday June 10, 2022 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital Greensboro, NC Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday June 14, 2022 in Citty Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will see friends 10:00 A.M to 11:00 A.M. before the service at Citty Funeral Home and at other times will be at the residence. A native of Rockingham County, she was the daughter of the late Jamie W. and Bessie Chapmon Walker and had lived her entire life in Rockingham County. She was a retired Customer Service Representative with Burlington Industries. A member of Antioch Baptist Church, she enjoyed gardening, sewing and reading the Bible. Edna was preceded in death by her husbands: Arnold Charles “Dink” Sharpe and James Carlton Barnes, a special niece: Tammy Morefield, a grandson: Matthew Hill and four brothers and three sisters. Survivors include her daughters: Deborah Sharpe of the home, Vicky Sharpe Higdon, Kitty L. Merritt (Bill) and Kathy W. Hill (Barry) all of Reidsville, brothers: Robert Walker of Reidsville, and Paul Walker (Rosie) of Eden, sisters: Linda Perkins of Eden, and Patsy Foster (Jim) of Yanceyville, nine grandchildren: Wayne Bates, II (Tracey), Brandon Harrelson, Chris Harrelson, Lanny Higdon (Kelly), Jeremy Higdon, Jordan Higdon, Tara Martin (Jennifer), Melanie Puckett (Brad) and Nicholas Hill, eight great grandchildren: Kenny Bates, III, Anthony Chilton, Kelsey Harrelson, Grey Higdon, Phoebe Higdon, Myles Higdon, Parker Upchurch, and Adaleigh Puckett.
