Eddie Lee Smith

Eddie Lee Smith, 89, of Reidsville went to be with the Lord Tuesday December 31, 2024 at Brookdale Assisted Living of Reidsville.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Thompsonville Baptist Church.

A native of Greensboro, he was a son of the late Thomas and Ruby Foster Smith and was a retired Building Inspector with the City of Greensboro. Eddie was a former member and Deacon of 16th St. Baptist Church in Greensboro and was a member and a former Deacon of Thompsonville Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing golf, and camping. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Charles E. “Buck” Smith and Thomas “Tommy” Smith.

He was survived by his wife of 67 years: Betty Ann Harden Smith of the home, son: Jeffrey L. “Jeff” Smith (Elizabeth) of Chattanooga, TN, and his daughter: Sheena Smith Straughan of Reidsville, grandchildren: Brandon Reavis, Adam Smith (Whitney), Taylor Self (Tyler) and Collin Smith.
