Donald Lee Brown, 90, of Reidsville died Thursday, August 14, 2025 after a full and happy life. He lived his final years in the Clare Bridge Community of Brookdale Senior Living in Reidsville. Funeral services are planned for Sunday, August 17, 2025 at 4:00 PM in Lowes United Methodist Church with Pastor Sharon Lee officiating. Service of Committal and Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will welcome friends in the church fellowship hall following the service, and will receive visitors prior to the service at the home of Joel Brown (263 Beaver Lodge Circle, Reidsville, NC 27320).
Donnie was born to William Dewey and Hannah Stadler Brown and lived in the Williamsburg Community of Rockingham County, NC all of his life. Donnie was a tobacco farmer, developed real estate, and also owned and operated businesses in Reidsville. He was a faithful member of Lowes United Methodist Church and served the community in many ways. Donnie was a veteran of the N.C. National Guard, a charter member and second Chief of the Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Department, a charter member of the Rockingham Caswell Hunting Club, a board member of Rockingham County NC Farm Bureau, and a founding member and former president of the North State Farmers Co-Op.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Wilma Smith Brown, his sister Betty Grey Brown, his brother, William Henry Brown and his sister, Virginia Brown Sharpe. He is survived by his sons, Joel Lee Brown (Kim) of Reidsville, Jack Todd Brown of Reidsville, Rev. Andrew Donald Brown (Jami) of Reidsville, and Allen Dewey Brown (Melissa Demko) of Kill Devil Hills, NC; his grandchildren, Kristina Brown, Matthew Brown (Chelsea), Hannah Brown, Jennifer Stanley (Ryan), Luke Brown (Haley), Jonah Brown and Kastella Brown; and his great grandchildren, Emma Brown, Mack Brown, Rylee Stanley, Madeline Brown, and Renley Stanley.
The family requests memorials be made to: Lowes United Methodist Church, 3191 NC Hwy 87 Reidsville, NC 27320. Citty Funeral Home is assisting the Brown family.
