Dianne Chance Young

Dianne Chance Young, 70, went to be with the lord on Monday, December 1, 2025, peacefully at her home.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Bethesda Presbyterian Church with Rev. Larry Durham and Cindy Poythress officiating and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home, 4026 N.C. 150 Reidsville, NC immediately following the service.
A native of Rockingham County, Dianne was the daughter of the late Robert Edward and Shirleen Atkins Chance, and she made her home in the Williamsburg community for most of her life. She was a dedicated former employee of Western Electric in Winston Salem NC as a circuit board assembler and a member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church. Dianne had a deep love for gardening and found great joy in playing the piano. She also served as a substitute teacher at Williamsburg Elementary School, where she played an important role in helping keep the school open until the completion of the new school building. Dianne was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband: Jarrell Young.
She is survived by her son: Jordan G. Young and fiancée: Jessica Smith of Reidsville, her brother: Robert Edward Chance Jr. of Charlottesville, VA, her sisters: Robinette C. Cassada (Thomas) and Sylvia Chance (Kenneth McCarty) all of Reidsville and her best friend: Lisa Rangeley of Clifton Forge, VA.
