David Lee Ames

David Lee Ames, 63, of McLeansville, NC went to be with the Lord Wednesday May 1, 2024 at Moses Cone Hospital Greensboro.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

A native of Guilford County, he was a son of the late Richard Haight and Minnie Catherine Allred Ames and had lived most of his life in Guilford County. He was a former truck driver and had served in the US Navy and the US Coast Guard. He was an avid NASCAR and NC State fan. David enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by a sister: Sallie Marie Ames and special friend: Catherine Forrest of Reidsville.

Survivors include: his brother: Joseph R. “Joe” Ames (Teresa) of McLeansville, sister: Elisabeth A. Pugh (John) of Brown Summit,
