Curtis Harold Blackwell

Curtis Harold Blackwell, 92, of Sherrills Ford, formerly of Stanley, Charlotte, and Winston-Salem, went to be with the Lord Saturday September 13, 2025 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, NC

A burial will be held in Reidlawn Cemetery at a later date.

A native of Rockingham County, he was a son of the late Ivy June and Bessie Irby Blackwell and was a former employee of RJ Reynolds Foods Division and a retired employee of Nucor Steel in Charlotte. He was a US Navy veteran and a graduate of Wake Forest University. Curtis loved being with his family and looked forward to family gatherings. He was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children: Patricia Bennett Blackwell, his brothers: Phillip Blackwell and David Blackwell, and his sisters: Ann Miles and Marie Perry. Survivors include his wife: Kay McAlister of Sherrills Ford, sons: Jeff Blackwell (Tina) of Statesville, and Rodney Blackwell (Pam) of Mt. Holly, three grandchildren: Stephanie Blackwell, Lindsey Blackwell and Brittany Joiner (Bo).
