In Loving Memory of Clay Anthony Borland
Clay Anthony Borland, born on November 6, 1956, in Istanbul Turkiye, left us on October 12, 2023.
He valued family above all, and is survived by his sisters, Christine and Lydia Borland, and nieces, Mia Rake and Layla Behbehani. Clay was preceded in death by his parents, James and
Alba Borland.
Clay’s early years were spent in Samsun and Izmir, Turkiye, but he found his true home in Reidsville, North Carolina. A Reidsville High School graduate and U S Navy veteran, Clay’s legacy will forever be intertwined with Turks Sports Food & Spirits, which he established on S. Scales St. in Reidsville. His dry sense of humor and his boundless heart endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Clay received a Certificate of Recognition from Guilford Community College for completing a Statistical Process Control Course in 1990. He also completed a Front Line Supervision Course with Rockingham Community College in 1991. Clay enjoyed fishing and going to the Eden Flea Market, visiting his friends.
Clay Anthony Borland’s memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched with his warmth, laughter, and generosity. Though he has left this world, his spirit will continue to shine in our hearts.
