Clarence Hollifield, 75, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, November 20, 2020, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, November 23, 2020, at Maple Lawn Baptist Church with Rev. John Byerly and Rev. Wesley Byerly officiating. Burial will be on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at 2:00 PM in the Ballew Family Cemetery in Burnsville, NC with Rev. Ken Hollifield officiating. Due to the COVID19 Pandemic, people that attend either service are strongly encouraged to wear a mask or face covering and observe social distancing.
A native of Yancey Co. he was a son of the late Clarkston A. and Anna Belle Branch Hollifield and he had lived in Reidsville for the past 35 years. Clarence was a self-employed and very talented carpenter. He was a member of Maple Lawn Baptist Church and a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He served on the USS Zellars and would always try to attend their reunions. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, and by his brother; Shelby Gene Hollifield, sisters; Ellie Hazel Zimmerman, Virginia Lee Waycaster, Bette Frances Barrier, and Oakalee Zimmerman.
He is survived by his loving wife; Judy Ballew Hollifield, sons; James Travis Hollifield of Reidsville and Logan Tyrell Hollifield and wife; Stephanie of Reidsville, his granddaughter; Winnifred Anne Hollifield, brother; Clarkston Hollifield, Jr. of Burnsville, NC, sisters; Edna Sue Pickard of Roxboro, NC, Linda Gale Franklin of Jonas Ridge, NC, and Wanda Kay Franklin of Newland, NC, and many loving nieces and nephews.
