Charlotte Matthews Hock

Charlotte Matthews Hock, 78, of Reidsville, went to be with the Lord Thursday June 10, 2021 at the Gibson House Hospice of Rockingham County. A Funeral Mass will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday June 16, 2021 in Holy Infant Catholic Church.  A Vigil service will be conducted 7:00 P.M. Tuesday June 15, 2021 in Holy Infant Church. A native of Wheeling, WVA, she was a daughter of the late Charles Edward and Shirrel Smith Matthews and had lived in Reidsville since 1971. She was a retired teacher’s assistant with the Rockingham County Schools, where she worked at Wentworth Elementary School for 26 years. Charlotte was a member of Holy Infant Catholic Church and was preceded in death by a son: Chris Hock and a brother: Ed Matthews. Survivors include her husband: Donald Eugene Hock of the home, her daughter: Andrea L. Taylor (Alexander) of Whispering Pines, NC, her daughter-in-law: Shandra Sweet-Hock of East Jordan, MI, her grandchildren: Camden, Cooper Taylor, and Andrew Sweet,  her niece Meredith Franklin (Drew), and  her cousins Shirrel Czap, Karol Wiggins and Becky Gandy. Memorials may be sent to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC 3655 Reed St. Winston-Salem, NC  27107. Citty Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
