Charles Thomas "Charlie" VanHook, Jr.

Charles Thomas “Charlie” VanHook, Jr., 72, of Reidsville, went to be with the Lord Wednesday February 1, 2023 at his home. Memorial services will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Sunday February 5, 2023 in Fairgrove United Methodist Church with rev. Matthew Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites. A native of Guilford County, He was a son of the late Charles Thomas and Rachael Lowe VanHook and had lived in Rockingham County for most of his life. A US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, he was a former employee of Hajoca Plumbing Supply and later Amsco Supply . He also was a representative for Southeastern Valve Specialties retiring in 2003. A member of Fairgrove United Methodist Church, Charlie loved the wildlife around his home and enjoyed feeding them daily. He went to the Reidsville Y.M.C.A. everyday where he had taught swimming. He loved his cats, and was always helping people that needed help. Charlie was preceded in death by a cousin: Artie VanHook. Survivors include his former spouse and friend: Janet L. VanHook of Greensboro,  cousins: Larry Wilson (Judy) of Raleigh, Ginger Wilson-Gines (Rick) of Mechanicsburg, PA, Garry Wilson (Kathy) of Black Creek, NC, Greg VanHook (Angie) of Madison, Jana Duke (Terry) of Reidsville, and Shari Hightower (Steve Weston) of Reidsville, best friend Terry Lee Kelly (Joy) of Reidsville and their sons: Chris Kelly and Andy (Natalea) Kelly.
