Carolyn Carter “Carol” Richmond, 71, of Reidsville passed away peacefully at her home around 11:59 PM Wednesday July 17, 2024 and entered her heavenly home to be with Jesus. She was a loving wife, homemaker, mother, and grandmother.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
There will be no visitation at this time.
She was born in Rockingham County December 9, 1952 to the late Julian and Maxine Patterson Carter and lived most of her life in Rockingham County. Carol enjoyed reading, fitness workouts, listening to music, and the calmness of the beach. Most of all she loved following her grandson Nicholas’ baseball career. Carol was of the Presbyterian faith and was preceded in death by two sisters: Cindy McCollum and Pam Carter.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years: Steve Richmond of the home, son: Chris Richmond (Stacey) of Reidsville, grandson: Nicholas Richmond of Reidsville, brother; Robert Carter (Sharon) of Casville, sisters: Susan Hooks, Debbie Hodges (Ronnie) and Betty Lillard (Erle).
The family would like to thank Baptist Hospital and special thanks to Ancora Compassionate Care (formerly Hospice of Rockingham County) for their compassion, kindness and excellent care during her illness.
