Brenda Moore Smothers

Brenda Kay Moore Smothers, 62, of Stokesdale, NC went to be with the Lord Wednesday January 27, 2021 at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday January 30, 2021 at Faith Baptist Church. The family will see friends 10:00 -11:00 AM one hour before the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. A native of Rockingham County, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth Earl and Mary Wilson Moore and had lived in Rockingham County most of her life. She was a former employee of Macfield Industries, a former employee of Faith Baptist Church Daycare, and later worked for the Council on Aging as a Personal Care Giver. A member of Faith Baptist Church, she enjoyed gardening and had a green thumb, she could grow anything. Brenda loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband: Nathan Wright Smothers, Jr. and a sister: Dale McDaniel. Survivors include her son: David W. Smothers ( Jessica)  of Stokesdale, grandchildren: Levi Wright Smothers and Joshua Clay Smothers both of Stokesdale, brothers: Kenneth Wayne Moore (Sharon), Timothy Michael Moore (Janet), Joseph William Moore (Sandra), and Alvin Van Moore (Carol) all of Reidsville, sisters: Ann M. Earles, Earlene M. Paynter (Marvin) , Shirley M. French (Tim) all of Reidsville, and Stella Moore of Emporia, VA. A big thank you to the medical staff of WellCare that has cared for Brenda over the years. The family will be at the home of her son David Smothers: 220  Farrar Store Rd. Stokesdale.
