Brenda Culver Gilmore, 77, of Reidsville formerly of Alabama, went to be with the Lord Wednesday September 14, 2022 at Annie Penn Hospital. A memorial service will be held at a later date. A native of Talladega County, AL, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lola Ettice Culver and had lived most of her life in Alabama, having moved to Reidsville, NC in 2012 to live with her daughter. A retired employee of Dixie Nissan Dealership in Bessemer, AL, she was a huge University of Alabama football fan and enjoyed cooking and sewing. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and was very competitive in scrabble. Brenda had a green thumb and enjoyed spending time gardening. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Louise Albernathy, and Evelyn Vance, and her brother Hollis Hopkins. Survivors include her daughter: Carmen G. Skidmore (Scott) of Reidsville, a son: Gary A. Gilmore of Montgomery, AL, grandchildren: Tyler Skidmore of Carlsbad, CA and Samantha Skidmore of Charleston, SC, and her canine companion Weet Weet.
