Bobby Lee Willis,79, left this earthly world on July 28, 2026. Bobby was born on January 28, 1947 in Roxboro, NC to William Burton Willis and Martha Elliott Willis. Bobby lived a life defined by unwavering love, hard work, and quiet strength. For 60 beautiful years, he shared his life with the only woman he ever loved, his beloved wife, Merry. Together they built a marriage rooted in faithfulness, sacrifice, and devotion—a love story that stood the test of time. They raised two sons who would go on to bless them with three cherished grandchildren, and later eight precious great-grandchildren who quickly became the light of Bobby's later years. There was nothing that brought him greater joy than seeing his family grow, and every moment spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was one he treasured deeply. Early in life, Bobby proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, completing eight years of active duty while stationed in the Philippines and Germany. When he returned home, he and Merry settled with a dream of creating something that would last forever. On a few humble acres, they created a farm filled with cattle, chickens, gardens, and a greenhouse. Bobby was never afraid of hard work. Whether he was working at Ball Canning Company, building a rental property business, or tending to the farm from sunrise until sunset, he gave everything he had. Those who knew him often said he worked like a mule—always moving, always fixing, always providing. In his happiest years, you could find him baling hay, working on a tractor, or digging potatoes alongside all of his "babies," making memories that will be cherished forever. The dirt beneath his boots and the love of his family were where he felt most at home. Bobby was a strong man with a firm handshake and little patience for foolishness, but beneath that tough exterior was a heart overflowing with love. When it mattered most, he was compassionate, generous, and fiercely devoted to the people he loved. His friendships stretched farther than anyone could count, and it often felt like he knew everyone. Bobby was the kind of man who became the center of every gathering, every project, and every life he touched. His absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing his legacy lives on through the family he adored, the land he loved, and the countless lives forever changed by his strength, kindness, and steadfast love. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Bobby was predeceased by his parents; son: Walston David Willis; brother: Williams Thomas Willis and sister: Janice Dianne Willis. Surviving to cherish his memory is his beautiful bride, Merry; Son: Benjamin Willis (Sandy); Daughter: Tanya Willis. Grandchildren: David Alex Willis (Louise); Merry Kate Parks (Dustin); Danielle Willis. Great-Grandchildren: Brinley, Ariel, Trevor, Ellie, Devin, Marleigh, Danny, Karsyn, Sisters: Nettie Brusseau, Rachel Ribelin (Willard) and Joy Tracy (Eugene). Numerous extended family and close friends. And his furry companion Jackson.
