Bobby Walker Obituary

Bobby Ray Walker, 61, of Reidsville, North Carolina, succumbed to cancer in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family on September 30, 2021. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, He managed his illness with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. In his final days, he was surrounded by his loving wife, children, grandchildren and friends. Whom he adored more than anything else in the world." Bobby was born in Rockingham County on March 10, 1960, the son of Mary Sue Justice and Jesse Oliver Walker “JW”, both deceased of Reidsville. He was retired from Williams & Trull Tractor Company in Reidsville and was Co-Owner of B&R Tractor Repair, with his close friend Robert Tillman. Bobby loved old cars, races of any kind and NASCAR. He worked as a mechanic all his life, but was forced to give up the career he loved due to his health. He was known by many due to his talent he possessed as a specialty mechanic. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do, drive or fix.  He spent his free time watching his favorite TV shows and always looked forward each week to watching the NASCAR Race with a very special uncle, Ray Justice. Who was more than an uncle to him; he was his best friend and father figure. Bobby loved his dogs (aka Replacement children) and his family with everything he had. He was a quiet man with a big heart. He would do anything he could for his family, friends and even strangers. He was and will always be remembered as a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother Ruby Justice McMillan, sisters Dorothy Patterson, Sandra Barber and brothers Rex Allen Walker, Charles Patterson and Ricky Patterson. Bobby is survived by his loving wife Sherry Edwards Walker of 25 years, Daughters Mary Kay Apple & Cassidy Walker and Sons Rex Walker & Ryan Cox. Brothers Mike Walker, Glenn Patterson, sisters Shirley Brammer, Pamela Michaux. He held a special place and love in his heart for his Grandchildren whom he was very proud of, Sierra Walker, Holden Joyce and Bryson Apple. Along with many nieces, nephews and extended family.  A special thank you to Amedisys Hospice out of Burlington, especially Brittany, Marvin and Chaplin Cathleen Pierce for their loving care and support during his final days. In addition, the family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards Pastor Doug Bray and everyone that assisted the family, provided prayers, text, calls of comfort and understanding during this difficult time.
