Bobby Wayne Barber

Bobby Wayne Barber, 83, went to be with his Lord on Friday, December 3, 2021, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, December 6, 2021, at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Larson officiating.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.

A native of Rockingham Co., he was a son of the late John Luther and Mattie Setliff Barber and he had lived in the Wentworth Community most of his life.  After his retirement from Sears, Wayne worked at RCC but his real passion was farming.  He was a very active member of Shady Grove Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher.  Wayne loved his church and he loved serving his Lord.  He loved cars and watching racing.  Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; Judy Neese Barber, and siblings; Elwood Barber, John L. Barber, Jr., Robert Bernie Barber, Louise Crowder, and Dora Lee Hopper.

Surviving is his son; Daryl Barber (Teresa) of Greensboro, sister; Kay Barber Hopper of Madison, grandchildren; James Barber, Virginia Barber, and Christopher Barber and by many loving nieces and nephews.

The family will see friends from 6:00PM until 8:00 PM Sunday at Citty Funeral Home and at other times at the residence’ 1230 County Home Rd. Reidsville, NC 27320.  Memorials may be made to:  Shady Grove Baptist Church  1095 County Home Rd. Reidsville, NC 27320.
