Betty Jean Rudisill Whitsett, 96, of Reidsville, went to be with the Lord Friday May 15, 2026 at the Penn Nursing Center.
Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday May 30, 2026 in Citty Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joan Rudisill officiating. Burial will be in Greenview Cemetery. The family will see friends 1:00 till 2:00 Saturday May 30, 2026 before the service at the funeral home.
A native of Hickory, NC, she was a daughter of the late Kohn and Violet Hefner Rudisill and had lived in Reidsville for most of her life. She was one of the first female loan officers and was retired from The Bank of Reidsville later Wachovia. An avid reader, she was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church. She loved her grandchildren and was a fifth generation grandmother. At one point in her life she was very active in Remmsco, Inc. and AA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: John Meador Whitsett, and a sister: Mary Kuhn. The family would like to thank Jerry Garrett for taking communion to Mrs. Whitsett throughout the years.
Survivors include her son: John M. “Minky” Whitsett (Millie) of Reidsville, grandchildren: Joe Whitsett (Heather) and Amy Whitsett Landerville (Glenn), great grandchildren: Jake Whitsett, Sara Whitsett Green (Dee), Emily Grace Whitsett, and Nicholas Settle, great great grandchild: Kaiden Green and a brother: Jim Rudisill (Joan) of Locust Grove, VA
