Betty Carter Lillard, 62 of Casville NC went to be with the Lord Tuesday January 21, 2025 at Duke Medical Center in Durham, NC surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday January 25, 2025 at Bethesda Presbyterian Church with Rev. Thomas Fargis and Rev. Larry Durham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will see friends 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. Friday January 24, 2025 at Citty Funeral Home and at other times will be at the residence.
A native of Rockingham County, she was a daughter of the late Julian and Maxine Carter and had lived most of her life in Caswell County. She was a 1980 graduate of Bartlett Yancey High School and member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church and attended Deep Creek Baptist Church. Betty was the retired Postmaster at Mayodan, NC serving 37 years with the Postal Service. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and she loved traveling, which she and her husband did often after her retirement. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Carol Richmond, Pam Carter, and Cindy McCollum.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years: Erle Lillard of the home, sons: Edward Joel Lillard (Julia) of Yanceyville, and David Allen Lillard of Mooresville, her brother: Robert Carter (Sharon) of Ruffin, her sisters: Susan Hooks and Debbie Hodges (Ronnie) both of Ruffin, grandchildren: Cameron Lillard, Carter Lillard, Colton Lillard, Collins Lillard of Yanceyville and 1 niece and multiple nephews. The family would like to thank special friends Tommy and Barbara Fargis of Burlington for all the support during her illness.
