Barbara Lawson Strader, 85, of Reidsville, went to be with the Lord Monday, October 4, 2021, at Annie Penn Hospital. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday October 8, 2021at Fairgrove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family requests that masks be worn and that social distancing be observed. A native of Rockingham County, she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Katie Apple Lawson and had lived in Reidsville all of her life. She and her late husband, Ken Strader, owned and operated Ken’s Carpet Center for many years. She was a member of Fairgrove United Methodist Church and had attended Community Baptist for a number of years before joining Fairgrove. She played the piano at both Fairgrove United Methodist Church and at Community Baptist Church throughout the years. She and her husband Ken sang gospel music many years throughout the area. Barbara loved her grandbabies and great grandbabies and had unselfishly taken care of many family members while juggling work and looking after her own family. She was preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth E. Strader, her son-in-law: Ken Hanks, and a brother: Parks Lawson. Survivors include her daughters: Cathy S. Dattero (Guilio) and Sandra S. Hanks, son: Kenneth E. Strader,Jr. (Terri), grandchildren: Nicolas, Abby (Stephen), Julie (Tripp), Megan (Jeff), Mandy (Justin), Brooke, and Madison, nine great grandchildren, sister-in-law: Cleo Lawson, and special friend: Sidney Lafon. The family will see friends at the home of her daughter: Sandra Hanks 105 Kingwood Rd. Reidsville, NC. You may come by Citty Funeral Home 9:00 till 6:00 P.M.
