Aubrey Simpson, 91, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, December 31, 2021, at Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Those wishing to pay their respects may come by Citty Funeral Home on Thursday, December 30, 2021, between the hours of 1:00 PM and 6:00PM and sign a register and view him.
A native of Caswell Co., he was a son of the late Brady Emerson and Ethel Yates Simpson and he had lived in Ruffin most of his life. Mr. Simpson was a US Army Veteran, a retiree from Dan River Mills, a farmer and a blacksmith. He enjoyed going to Cats Place with his friends. Mr. Simpson was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Georgie Collie Simpson, brothers, Raymond Simpson, Haywood Simpson and Maurice Simpson, sisters, Geraldine Reagan, Elma Evans, and a granddaughter, Sandra Wyatt.
Surviving is his son, Aubrey Thomas Simpson of Ruffin, daughter, Tammy Simpson Taylor (Richard) of Reidsville, sisters, Tiny Reagan of Reidsville, Loretta Cox of Reidsville, and Shirley Smith of Pelham, grandchildren, Ashley Miller (Darrell), Ian Wyatt (Reba), and Emily Taylor, great grandchildren, Oakley Miller and Opal Miller, many loving nieces and nephews, and his Cats Place family. The family would like to especially thank Hospice of Rockingham Co. and Nurse Kim for their excellent care.
