Anne Parsons Murphy

Anne Parsons Murphy, 92, went to be with her Lord on Monday, April 6, 2026, at the home of her daughter.

There will be no formal service.

A native of Danville, VA, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Ruth Tanner Parsons and had moved to Garner, NC with her daughter and son-in-law.  She was of Baptist faith and was a retired accountant with Dan River Mills.  Mrs. Murphy enjoyed crocheting and making gifts for her family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband:  John Pettigrew Murphy, Jr. and her sister.

She is survived by her daughter:  Betty M. Ashley (Mike) of Garner,  her grandchildren:  Carol Anne Haskins (Perry) and Samantha Whittington (Paul), J. C. Ashley (Courtney),  her great grandchildren:  Christian Wright (Taylor), Emily Stewart (Taylor), Miles Ashley, Mason Ashley, and Levi Whittington, her great great grandchildren:  Brayden Wright and Stetson Stewart.

Citty Funeral Home is assisting the Murphy family and the family requests that memorials be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
