Ada Helen McGee James

Ada Helen McGee James, 78, of Reidsville, went to be with the Lord Thursday April 22, 2021 at the home of her son where she had moved due to her illness. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Monday April 26, 2021 in Citty Funeral Home Chapel with Bobby Mabe officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will see friends one hour before the service at Citty Funeral Home. Due to COVID-19 masks and social distancing are encouraged.  A native of Mecklenburg Co. NC, she was raised at Mills Home in Thomasville, NC.  A daughter of the late Walter and Pauline Hunter McGee, she had lived most of her life in Reidsville. She was a tax preparer for over 26 years with H & R. Block in the Madison, NC office. A  faithful member of Burton Memorial Baptist Church, where she sang in the church choir, was a member of the WMU, was on the Hostess Committee, and also a member of the Senior Sunday School Class. Helen was preceded in death by two husbands: Arthur A. Williams and Pete James, sons: Tony Williams and Jeffrey Williams, granddaughter: Brandi Calhoun, sister: Pat Combs, brothers: Walter A. McGee, Jr., James N. McGee, and Donald O. McGee. Survivors include her son: Steven Kent Williams and wife Margaret of Reidsville, daughter-in-law: Tammy Williams of Eden, sister-in-law Wanda McGee of Charlotte, sister: Jane Chappell of Charlotte, granddaughter: Ariel Williams of Eden, and three great grandchildren.
