Yancey William ”Bill” Warren, 92, of Reidsville, NC passed away peacefully Tuesday August 28, 2018 at the VA Hospital in Durham, NC

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Tuesday September 4, 2018 in Citty Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Reidlawn Cemetery.

A native of Halifax County Virginia, he was a son of the late James Thomas and Linnie Dix Warren and had lived in Reidsville most of his life. He was the retired owner/operator of Warren Construction Co and was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall on McCoy Rd. A US Navy veteran of WWII, he was preceded in death by brothers: James T. Warren Jr., Ralph O. Warren and sisters: Frances W. Saunders, Blanche W. Davis, Myrtle W. London, and Ethel W. Morgan.

Survivors include his wife of 72 years: Leona Knowles Warren of the home, daughters: Gipsie W. Hixson and husband Dr. Mark Hixson of Raleigh, Judy Warren Miller of Reidsville, and Jackie A. Warren of Madison, NC , eight grandchildren: Kristopher Hixson, Todd Hixson (Julia), Harrison Miller, Steven Miller, Katie Kingston (Josh), Kenzie Faint Fuller, Kirsten Mashtalov (Nik), Kelly Faint, and eleven great grandchildren: Mary-Knowles Hixson, Curtis Hodge Jr., Warren Hodge, Kai Hodge, Christopher Wheeler, Lauren Wheeler, Collin Sharpe, Leona Sharpe, Liam Kingston, Lucas Kingston, Lillian Fuller, and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family will see friends 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. Monday September 3, 2018 at Citty Funeral Home and at other times will be at the residence.
