Norman Booker, 95, of Reidsville went to be with the Lord Thursday September 27, 2018 at Annie Penn Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Sunday September 30, 2018 at Fairview Baptist Church. The family will see friends 2:00 till 3:00 P.M. Sunday September 30, 2018 before the service at Fairview Baptist Church and at other times will be at the residence.. Burial will be in Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery.
A native of Rockingham County, he was a son of the late Charlie Samuel and Naomi Jackson Booker and had lived in Rockingham County his entire life. A retired employee of FCX and later Southern States with 33 years of service, he was a member of Fairview Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, sang in the choir, was former church treasurer, and had served on numerous committees throughout the years. He was a US Army veteran of WWII, and was a member of American Legion Post# 79 and Midway- Monroeton VFW Post # 8297. Norman was preceded in death by brothers: Bill Booker, George Booker, Leonard Booker, Glenn Booker, and Jack Booker and a sister: Mary Rierson.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years Thelma O’Briant Booker of the home, brother: Rev. Gene Booker and wife Bobbie Jean of Asheboro, sisters-in-law: Janie Booker and Frances Booker both of Reidsville, and many loving nieces and nephews.
