Linda Paschal Smithey

Linda Paschal Smithey, 75, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00PM Saturday, June 16, 2018, in Citty Funeral Home Chapel with Elder David Underwood officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenview Cemetery.

A native of Rockingham Co., she was a daughter of the late Alben B. and Ola Smith Paschal and had lived in the Williamsburg Community most of her life.  She was a former employee of Glen Raven Mill, Creighton Shirt Factory, and the Rockingham Co. Schools where she worked in the cafeteria at Williamsburg Elementary School.  In her later years she worked with her son in the auction business and was a devoted, loving Mawmaw to her grandchildren, which were her pride and joy.  Throughout her life she enjoyed and shared her talent of drawing and painting.

Surviving is her husband of 54 years;  Larry Lee Smithey of the home, son;  Kenneth Lee Smithey (Beth) of Reidsville, daughter;  Kimberly Lyn Minter (Richard) of Reidsville, brothers;  Merylin Paschal (Vivian) of Reidsville, Rogers Paschal (Shelby) of Reidsville, Jerry Paschal (Donna) of Ruffin, and Jimmy Paschal of Reidsville, sisters;  Alene Parker of Reidsville, Ann Smith of Greensboro, Katherine Miles (Sam) of Gibsonville, and Maye Ware (Cary) of Reidsville, grandchildren;  Jacob Smithey, Ava Minter, Jules Smithey, Kalynn D. Evans (Josh) and Jared Dillard.

The family will see friends from 6:00 till 8:00PM Friday, June 15, 2018, at Citty Funeral Home and at other times at the residence 156 County Line Rd.  Reidsville, NC 27320.  Memorials may be made to:  The Downs Syndrome Society 1100 H St. NW  Washington, DC 20005.  Online condolences may be made at www.cittyfh.com
