Joan Witty Jones

Joan Witty Matthews Jones,  73,  of 4079 NC 65 Reidsville, NC 27320, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her family.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 2:00PM Sunday, July 8, 2018, at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Gregg Robertson officiating.

A native of Rockingham Co.,  she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Ruth Shelton Witty and had lived in the Wentworth and Bethany communities most of her life.  Joan was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and was a retired Secretary/Bookkeeper at Wentworth Elementary School.  She enjoyed baking, crocheting, family beach trips, and loved her grandchildren.  Joan was preceded in death by her parents and by brothers;  Ricky & Ivy Witty and by sisters;  Annette & Jeanette Witty.

Surviving are her loving husband;  Tommy Jones of the home, “her greatest accomplishment” her sons;  Mark Matthews (Aimee) of Raleigh & Brad Matthews (Megan) of Swansboro, her brother;  Bobby Witty (Pat) of Madison, her much  loved grandsons;  Hunter and Brady Matthews and her special family;  Ronald, Shannon, and Reagan Boyd.
