Franklin Dennis Brame passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018. He lived in the Bethany Community of Rockingham County and graduated from Bethany High School in 1955. He was well known as an expert automobile body man which he did for over 50 years alongside his brother Bud at Greensboro Body, Rice Toyota and Nelson Cole and also at his own shop at his home. He also enjoyed wood working and had built many pieces for his family. Dennis was a Charter Member of the Rockingham County Gun Club and had served on the board. He enjoyed spending many Sundays there with his nephew Alan Brame. Dennis enjoyed bench rest shooting and had traveled all over the East coast going to matches, was inducted into the National Bench Rest Shooters Association World Hall of Fame, and is still a record holder to this day.
He is survived by his wife Sarah Moore Brame of 61 years, grandchildren Lisa Miller (Paul), Robbie (Valerie) and J.R. (Rainey) and great-grandchildren Mykala, Gracelyn and Addie, brothers-in-law Kirby Moore and Robert Friddle, and sisters-in-law Linda Moore, Mary Ellen Lovings and Zetta Brame. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sons Clayton (B.J.) and Earl Brame (former wife Tina Lovelace and husband Donald), brothers Bud, Glenn and Wayne and sisters Betty, Joann, Lois, and Marie.
A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Glencoe United Methodist Church, 601 Glencoe Church Loop, Summerfield, NC with a graveside service at 10:00 with visitation following in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Glencoe United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
