Eugene Allen Garrison

Eugene Allen “Gene” Garrison, 92, of Reidsville, NC went to be with the Lord Sunday July 15, 2018 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday July 19, 2018 in Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites. There will be no formal visitation.

A native of Alliance, Ohio, he was a son of the late Wesley Floyd and Reba Bessie Woollen Garrison and had lived in Rockingham County for most of his life. He was the retired paymaster for American Tobacco Co. and was a member of Sharon Baptist Church. A US Marine Corps veteran of WWIl,  where he served in the Pacific Theater, he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Floyd Elwood Garrison.

Survivors include a niece: Catherine Garrison (Charles Holliday) of Charleston, SC, chosen family: Keith Melvin (Janis) of Atlanta, GA, Gary Melvin (Kathy) of Reidsville, NC, Lori Dodson of Reidsville, NC, Gary Schoolfield of Reidsville, NC, special friend: Marilyn Sharpe of Madison, NC.
