Elizabeth Wright Walker "Lib" Hurt

Elizabeth Wright Walker “Lib” Hurt passed away early Thursday morning July 12, 2018 at Penn Nursing Center in Reidsville, six days shy of her 91st birthday. She was born on July 18, 1927 in Reidsville, NC to Wyatt M. “Jack” and Tera Lambeth Walker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her half-sisters, Lillian Underwood and Margaret Armfield. She is survived by her son: Thomas W. Hurt and his wife Pat, her daughter: Judith E. Hurt, sister: Jacqueline “Jackie” Walker Tatum, brother: Franklin G. Walker and his wife Ruth and their daughter Leslie Ann, and her half-sister: Eva Walker Honneycutt.

Visitation will be held in the Fellowship Hall of Mission First UMC, 1520 S. Scales St. Reidsville at 2:00 P.M. Sunday July 15, 2018 followed by a funeral service in the sanctuary of Mission First UMC at 3:00 P.M. . Burial will be in Greenview Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank her wonderful caregivers at Penn Center, especially Vicki, Renae, Ronda, Shantale, and George, and the loving staff of Hospice of Rockingham County. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Woodmont UMC for Mission First UMC, or to Hospice of Rockingham County will be appreciated.
