Elizabeth Cross Belton

Elizabeth Cross Belton,92, of Reidsville went to be with the Lord on Thursday August 9, 2018.  She passed away peacefully at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00AM Monday August 13, 2018 at Citty Funeral Home Chapel and burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Ashley Loop Road, Reidsville N.C.

The family will see friends from 6:00 till 8:00 PM Sunday, August 12, 2018, at Citty Funeral Home and at other times at 140 Blueberry Road, Reidsville, NC.

A native of Pittsylvania Co., VA and was a daughter of the late Eugene and Rosa Bray Cross and had lived in Reidsville most of her life.  She was a retiree of American tobacco Company, after 40 & ½ years of service, a charter member of Community Baptist Church of Reidsville, and was a tireless, devoted servant of the Lord.  She acted in any capacity that would bring glory to the Lord, including 52 years of teaching Sunday school to 2 & 3 year olds.

She was preceded in death by her husband;  Thomas Belton, sisters;  Mary Lunsford of Yanceyville, Louise Cross and Ruby Carter of Axton, VA, and brother;  Jack Cross of Axton, VA.

Surviving is her daughter;  Jeanette Bedell and husband;  Lee, grandsons;  Phillip Chism & wife;  Stephanie, and Justin Bedell, great granddaughter;  Madison Wilson, brother;  Billy Cross, and her caregivers;  Emily Eastwood, Sara Shaw, & Betty Walker.

The family believes that when someone passes, their life does not end but rather changes.  We know that she has reached a place of everlasting peace, alongside Jesus Christ.  While we grieve her passing, we are secure in the knowledge that she now has a new body and a clear mind.  Online condolences may be made at www.cittyfh.com and memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 225 N.
