Debra Boone Young

Debra Boone Young, 68, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at the Hospice Home of Rockingham Co.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00AM Friday, January 4, 2019, at Fairview Baptist Church and burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.

A native of Rockingham Co., she was the daughter of the late Alvis Moyer and Mildred Carter Boone and she had lived in Reidsville all of her life.  Debra was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and a retired employee of the American Tobacco Co.  She played the organ and piano at her church and was a faithful and active member.  Debra enjoyed camping, laying in the sun at the beach but she loved spending time with her granddaughter; Madison, most of all.

Surviving is her husband; Tommy L. Young of the home, sons;  Mark Thomas Young (Amy) of Stokesdale and Ryan Boone Young (Sheri) of Reidsville, her granddaughter;  Madison Young, and her cousin; Jean Price of Reidsville.

The family will see friends from 6:00 till 8:00PM Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Fairview Baptist Church and at other times at the residence.  Citty Funeral Home is assisting the Young family.  Memorials may be made to:  St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital  501 St. Jude Place  Memphis, TN 38105 or Hospice of Rockingham Co.
