A native of Reidsville, NC a town that he loved to call home, Boyd went to Reidsville High
School where he had some of his fondest memories and his closest friends. Boyd starred at
Quarterback for the Golden Lions and loved to tell stories of him donning his #22 jersey under
the lights at Kiker stadium, graduating in 1953. He later attended Elon College.
Boyd spent his professional career traveling the southeastern United States as a manufacturers
rep selling fine mens apparel most notably Robert Talbott neckwear to specialty men’s stores.
Boyd could move the room with his charming wit, impeccable sense of style, and firm
handshake, a true southern gentleman he was. Boyd took great pride in the way he dressed
and always wore his Robert Talbott ties, straw hats, and his white beard with style.
Boyd loved his family, friends, golf and movies.
