Corinda Robertson Thompson

Corinda Jane Robertson Thompson went to be with the Lord Wednesday March 13, 2024 at her home.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday March 15, 2024 at Mount Hermon Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Chapmon officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. Thursday March 14, 2024 at Mount Hermon Baptist Church.

Corinda was born on November 20, 1949, in Leakesville, NC (Eden) to Fred and Audrey Robertson. She attended Wentworth School and played basketball in her high school years. Corinda never met a stranger. She had many life-long friends who she loved dearly. She worked at Fieldcrest Mills for 29 years and Smith Moore Leatherwood Law for 18 years before her retirement. She loved to travel and took many bus trips that took her across the United States and Canada. She especially loved going to the Smokey Mountains and had many fun trips there with friends and family. She enjoyed NASCAR, and watching basketball, her favorite team was The Duke Blue Devils. She loved her dog Cricket.  She attended Mount Hermon Baptist Church all of her life and was a member of the Baptist Women’s group, taught Sunday School, worked with the GA’s and organized Wednesday night meals for many years. She loved her school classmates and organized their meeting times and places every month, after her sickness the meetings were moved to her house so that she could still be involved. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Danny Thompson, her parents: Fred and Audrey Robertson, her grand nephew Joseph Dalton Robertson. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter: Kristi Thomas(John), brother: Tom Robertson( Janet), niece: Katelyn Robertson( Ian), nephew: Dalton Robertson( Ashley), beloved aunt: Betty Jean Carter(whom she shared a birthday), caregiver: Cindy Lovelace, uncle: Hollis Robertson, aunt: Katie Rice and numerous  cousins.
